How we work

We scope before we quote. Every estimate starts with a recorded camera run and a locate. You watch the footage, you get the file, and the price is written from what we saw, not from the age of the house. If the pipe is fine and the problem is roots, you pay for jetting and we go.

We price the options side by side. Spot repair, lining, bursting and open trench each have a place. On most Indianapolis laterals two of them are reasonable and we write both, with the permit, the restoration and the cleanout as their own lines, so you can see why one costs more.

We pull the permit. Citizens Energy Group has required a bonded contractor and a permit for lateral work since 1 January 2026, and the connection is inspected. Carmel and Greenwood have their own utilities and their own permits. That is on every estimate. We don't do unpermitted lateral work, and a contractor who offers to is offering you a problem at resale.

We scope again when we're done. Every repair, lining and replacement ends with a second camera run, and you get that video too.

What to expect from any sewer contractor in Indianapolis

Whoever you call — us included — you should get:

• A camera inspection, recorded, before any price for repair or replacement
• A written estimate with the method, depth, length, pipe material, permit, restoration and cleanout as separate lines
• Proof of the Citizens bond (or the Carmel or Greenwood equivalent), the Indiana plumbing contractor license, and general liability and workers' compensation insurance, sent before the crew arrives
• Indiana 811 called before any dig
• No price that expires today, and no deposit larger than the material
• A post-job camera run

Licensing and insurance

Indiana licenses plumbing contractors through the state Plumbing Commission under the Professional Licensing Agency, and Citizens requires its own bond for anyone touching a lateral in its service area. We carry both, plus liability and workers' compensation, and will send the documents on request. The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency lets you look up any plumbing contractor's license before you hire them; use it on us and on everyone else you call.

What we don't do

We don't do interior plumbing beyond the sewer connection, we don't do septic, and we don't sell root-killing chemicals or annual maintenance plans to people whose pipes don't need them. If your problem is the combined sewer surcharging in a storm, the fix is a backwater valve, and we will say so.
